Americans are celebrating the Fourth of July, which marks an event of massive historical significance for their country. The Fourth of July is the most significant national holiday in the United States. It celebrates the Declaration of Independence, adopted on 4 July, 1776. The Thirteen Colonies of America declared themselves to be states and no longer part of the British Empire, though the revolutionary war continued for some time after. Today, the original copy of the Declaration is housed in the National Archives in Washington, D.C.
Summer is always just around the corner, which means you need to get ready for your Independence Day celebrations. Typical Independence Day celebrations include fireworks, parades, family gatherings and barbecues. In recent decades many have chosen to use their holidays to take a trip with their families.
4th of July weekend is one of the most popular weekends in Rocky Point along with Labor Day, Memorial Day and Spring Break. During this celebration in Puerto Peñasco there are many activities to do. You can take a day of family relaxation at the Islas del Mar Golf Course, take a boat trip or go for a walk on the beach. At night there is a lot of activity in the bars and some even have fireworks shows!
Rocky Point has long been a popular 4th of July vacation destination for its warm summer weather, beautiful beaches, great sunsets and fun-filled armosphere. Many visitors also buy their own fireworks to shoot off around the public beaches with caution of course.

Everything you need can be found at our local grocers here in Rocky Point. For those who prefer to go out, local bars and clubs will have live music and DJs all weekend. And don’t forget to visit The Old Port and The Cholla Mall (Mexican Rodeo Drive) to pick up gifts for your loved ones back home.
